It is that time of the week – Discussion Tuesday.
Thoughts, ideas and questions are exchanged from blogger to author; writer to reader and vise versa.
After holidays, for me, it is always hard to get back in the swing of things: post regularly on my blog, continue editing and writing. But returning home gave me a burning passion to get things completed. Being overseas gave me ideas for my current WIP and future projects.
When has traveling inspired you? If so, how?
It doesn’t have to be overseas, it can be to a calm place in the valleys or a cafe down the Main street to watch people and listen to conversations. As writers we need to entice readers with our words, we need to observe our surroundings of the world we live in.
Thailand inspired me in different ways.
Alot of people read while traveling. The idea of people reading my book while traveling sent shivers down my spine.
The Thailand culture and history showed me different beliefs and values that I can incorporate into my characters and world.
How and when has a voyage inspired your creative practices?

Actually I do some hiking and like to experience different landscapes. This gives me an idea of what my characters would see and feel when questing. Last fall I did 5 1/2 hours through forest and prairie. Really gives you a feel for how uncomfortable walking can be.
I love to hike as well. All of our senses are exposed and experiencing the smells, tastes, noises and the irritation of walking can enhance the quality of writing.
Thank you for sharing 😃
And also if you experience writers block, stepping away from the page and leaving the house can expose new ideas 👌
